Cosmetic Dentistry

Cosmetic dental procedures can not only improve your smile but can also boost your self-confidence. The highly experienced, board-certified dentists and friendly staff at Madison Dental Group provide a full range of cosmetic and restorative dentistry services.

We offer both surgical and non-surgical procedures, including whitening and bleaching, porcelain veneers, tooth-colored fillings, crowns, bridges and dental implants. With as little as one trip, you can start your journey toward a happier, healthier smile.

For our new patients, we will provide a free whitening consultation. During our initial consultation, we will discuss which procedure is best suited for you to attain a world-class smile.

Bleaching (Tooth Whitening)

For the past 5 years, we have successfully treated over two thousand patients. The Madison Dental Group is one of the leading practices in home whitening treatment. The procedure is simple, safe and an effective tooth whitening process that lightens most tooth discolorations and gives you the bright smile you want.

Procedure:

During your diagnostic visit, we take impressions of your teeth so we can make thin, custom fitted lightening trays that you can wear at night or during the day.

On your second visit, we fit trays, give you the Nite White or Day White lightening gel and easy to follow instructions.

Follow the home use instructions and within 2 weeks there will be a dramatic difference in your smile. Most people begin to see whitening effects within a few days.

Nite White and Day White are lightening systems that we find are more effective and better tasting than other systems. Nite White has the advantage of working while you sleep, Day White is used twice a day for 30 minutes each time. Both are a peppermint flavored gel (FDA approved carbamide peroxide) and are safe when used under your dentist's supervision.

Laser Dentistry

Lasers allow many dental procedures to be performed with no noise and very little pain. They are versatile tools that can be used in oral surgery, curing of restorative materials, and removal of hard and soft tissue. Other benefits of laser dentistry over traditional methods can include:

  • Reduced heat and vibration
  • High precision
  • Little or no need for anesthetic
  • Faster treatment time
  • Increased rate of curing/bleaching
  • Less post-operative pain and swelling
  • Fewer pain medications/antibiotics

Many patients find that laser dentistry is far more comfortable than traditional methods using drills. The only noise comes from air as it cools the area being treated. Laser technology also allows several procedures to be performed during a single appointment by your own dentist, so you can be in and out of the office faster.

Porcelain Laminate Veneers

Porcelain veneers are a fantastic way to repair or enhance the appearance of front teeth. They can be used to whiten teeth, close spaces and create a great smile. Using veneers, we can even perform virtually "Instant Orthodontics" to straighten crooked teeth and give you the bright beautiful smile that you always wanted.

Veneers are very thin porcelain restorations that are bonded to the front of your anterior teeth. They are very strong and have a "life-like" appearance with great strength and beauty.

Veneers have many advantages over traditional Porcelain Fused-to-Metal crowns

  • No "Dark Line" that can often be seen at the gum line
  • They transmit light better, creating a more translucent "natural" appearance
  • Require either a minimal reduction of tooth structure of sometimes almost none at all

Composite Bonding

Bonding can improve the appearance of chipped, broken, cracked and stained teeth and spaces between teeth. Our dentists apply a thin layer of tooth-colored composite resin to the teeth to restore chips and cracks, fill in gaps or cover stains, and provide patients with a more attractive and functional smile.

First, a thin layer of plastic material is applied to the tooth's surface. Then the dentist sculpts the bonding material to the desired shape and bonds it to the tooth using a special light. The bonding material comes in many colors so it will be possible to match the shade of your teeth. Once the plastic has hardened, it is polished until it is entirely smooth. The procedure takes one to two hours and the bonding lasts about 7-11 years.

Tooth-Colored Fillings

Unsightly metal fillings can make an otherwise perfect set of teeth look unattractive. Now there are fillings specially designed to match the natural color of the tooth. Directly-bonded, tooth-colored resin fillings can make a tooth look like new, whether they are used for small areas of decay or to replace current fillings.

Orthodontics (Traditional and Invisalign®)

Orthodontics refers to the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of dental and facial irregularities such as crooked teeth, crowding, spacing, protruding upper teeth, overbite, underbite, open bite and crossbite. Braces and other orthodontic appliances are used to correct these "bad bites" or malocclusions by moving the teeth and jaw into proper alignment. Treatment is designed to help the patient both aesthetically (by improving the smile) and functionally (by improving the bite). Patients who undergo orthodontic treatment often enjoy greater self-confidence with their new smile.

Now you can enjoy the smile you have always wanted without the annoyance of metal in your mouth. No huge brackets darkening your smile. No irritated lips or cheeks. No worries about mouth injury while playing sports.

Invisalign® is a remarkable system of invisible aligners that help straighten teeth comfortably without metal bands, brackets or wires. The pieces are easily removable so you can eat, drink, brush and floss. Best of all, no one will know you're wearing Invisalign aligners unless you tell them.
